The Big Issue is a not-for-profit organisation that publishes Australia’s best-known street paper, The Big Issue. Sold on the streets by vendors, The Big Issue provides people who are homeless, unemployed and disadvantaged an opportunity to earn an income and to take steps towards making positive changes in their lives. The Big Issue boosts self esteem and prevents isolation, provides an income to help get off the streets, and brings awareness to the community about homelessness and other issues.

South West Brisbane Community Options Homeless Project provides services for frail older people and younger prople with disabilities who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Services can include personal care, assistance with shopping and banking, social support, support, information and advocacy.
