Homeless to Home Healthcare

Homeless to Home Healthcare Brisbane provides a variety of services to enhance the health of the homeless living in Brisbane, and facilitate their transition to accessing housing and creating a home including:

  • The provision of primary health care and clinical services by a Registered Nurse at the Brisbane Homelessness Service Centre (BHSC)
  • Enhancing access to mainstream health care
  • Linking and integrating access to housing ,healthcare and support
  • A multi-disciplinary approach to sustaining tenancy and maintaining a home with Micah Projects support and advocacy workers and Registered Nurse
  • Hosting an accessible GP clinic
  • Health promotion on critical health conditions
  • Collaborative Support Plans with collocated agencies
  • Collaboration with Queensland Health Homeless Health Outreach Team and Spiritus Homeless Program
  • Access to an Acupuncture Clinic weekly
  • Access and Referral to Counsellor

Accessing health care services
Individuals and families can access Homeless Healthcare Brisbane through the following channels:

  • Walk in to the BHSC
  • Joint outreach visits with support and advocacy workers to rough sleepers and within homes
  • Referral
  • Phone appointment

Weekly Healthcare Clinics (If possible, please phone before the clinic time to make an appointment)

  • Mater Community Nurse - Ros Butler
    Available during BHSC operating hours and outside of business hours by appointment
  • GP
    Monday 4 - 7pm, Thursday 10am - 1pm
  • Accupuncturist
    Monday 3 - 5pm
  • Counsellor
    Monday 4 - 7pm
